Pup Cups for a Cause: Dairy Queen Is Helping Hampton Roads Shelter Pets

There’s something even sweeter than watching your dog enjoy a frozen treat: knowing that the treat is helping animals in need.

This September, Dairy Queen’s Pup Cups for Shelters fundraiser is back in Hampton Roads, giving local pet parents an easy way to spoil their four-legged friends while supporting area animal welfare organizations.

And yes, your dog is probably going to be very happy about this.

How Dairy Queen’s Pup Cup Fundraiser Works

The idea is simple: Stop by a participating Dairy Queen during September, order a Pup Cup for your dog, and $1 from every Pup Cup sold will be donated to animal welfare organizations in Hampton Roads.

According to Mid-Atlantic Dairy Queen, the annual fundraiser has raised more than $42,000 for local animal shelters since it began in 2020.

This year, the fundraiser will benefit four Hampton Roads organizations:

• Virginia Beach SPCA

• Peninsula SPCA

• Norfolk SPCA

• Chesapeake Humane Society

That means a simple stop for a frozen treat can help provide food, medical care, shelter and other necessities for pets waiting for forever homes.

Where Can You Get a Pup Cup?

Dairy Queen Pup Cups for Shelters are available at participating Hampton Roads Dairy Queen locations throughout September. Mid-Atlantic Dairy Queen provides a current list of participating locations on its website.
